AYC Northern Century 100 Race

Calypso sailing into the sunset

I met Martin first on the C&C list, and then down on the dock working with Michael on Calypso, the 1970 C&C 43. I begged a ride, and got to go on the delivery to Port Townsend, and then up to Anacortes for the Northern-Century 100 race. The Anacortes Yacht club race was challenging, a 100 mile endurance race in and around the San Juan Islands. There was a dinner at the club and the race started about 7:30 in the evening, so unlike Swiftsure, there were two nights racing. Full 360's in the currents, rain, we had everything but too much wind. Very light wind and currents - we felt good just to have finished, and with a great group of sailors aboard, we still had a good time. Thanks to Martin, Michael, Charles, Carol, Galen, Glen, and Oscar for making it a fun ride!

See the race tracker but note, it doesn't work in all browsers. Enjoy!
