Pig Roast 2014

©Lee Youngblood 2014

My delightful sister Lane, and her artist husband Rodger, have been doing a yearly pig roast at their Cle Elum place, for almost 25 years. There is always core group of folks that manage to make most of the potlucks, and the event is always a wildly eclectic cast of characters! Folks from many of their lives, guests, and visitors from around the country show up, with food, TP, and charcoal.

There's an annual pilgrimage to the river to see how it's changed, cool off, or bake in the sun. A variety of dogs come and go, and some of Sara's projects may reappear. Marti and John do a lot of the heavy lifting, cooking and cutting up the pig. As the pig is presented, more folks show up for the potluck, about 50-60 people this year. Time to eat, share stories, and show what a great time we had! We only made it up for the afternoon, and missed out on Marti's traditional breakfast. If you missed the pig roast this year, make plans to join us next year. . .
