Fifteen years ago, Kathleen and I sailed to San Francisco with John and Lisa on their 35' Wauquiez Pretorien. I was so impressed with the boat, I've tried to make as many of the Rendezvous as possible. It's always a delight to try to get pics of the boats, and the people, that make this such a fun day. Brion Toss was doing a rig survey on Snow Goose. Black Rabbit was back with new owners, and the "new" boat, down from Alaska, was Dave's Arctos. There is usually a race, and while cloudy, we had wind this year! Steve on Aeolus managed the race, sitting out in the bay for the finish. Check out the hi-speed pass Guy on Airfair made between Black Rabbit and Turbulance. Wow, look at Pat, on the black striped Aeolus, so far ahead he's looking over his shoulder! Always a gentleman, thank you Mike on Amantea for the fun ride! After the race, beer and stories, there is a fine potluck dinner with good speakers. Marcus had pics and stories from his Mexico-Hawaii cruise, with daugther, Sam to help. Mike Locatel closes with his Wauquiez industry report. Ross managed it all, quietly with a smile. I ducked out of dinner for the last of the sunlight, and then headed home, a long fun day. Thanks all! (Click on a image below for a larger image "slide show" - arrow keys work well.)
