Race Your House is a liveaboard classic, a Sloop Tavern YC sailboat race off Shilshole, and this year we had a great turn-out from O-dock. Santosha, a Catalina 34 finished second in their class, their first race! I ended up begging a ride on Cameron's O'day 37CC, and he had signed up in a flying sails class by mistake, without even a spinnaker. It was a cool, foggy and light air day, with a lot of current and a bit of fun at the leeward, West Point mark. We got to see many of the boats sail past us, and some we missed completely. I tried to get pics of all the boats I could, and Cameron's crew, Chiara and Terra. It was great to see Gypsy and Subira, the Islander Freeport 36's out. Cary and crew on Sea Haven blew right by us, and like big Altair and Velella, made me wish for a spinnaker. But - We were cruising in style - Cameron made beer bread and soup, and finally the sun came out. Red Hot a sweet C&C 39 I sold a few years ago, finished early, and hunted us down to brag! Scott and Elliot on the Kendall 32, Shaula finally gave up, and came by for a visit. Elliot used to be on O-dock. The Valiant 42 that had been behind us, sailed off to Port Madison and back, to finish ahead of us, and the little PS Dana finally gave up and motored home. We were the last boat to finish, frustrated by the Catalina 38, Gusto, that found a little wind by the breakwater and squeaked by. Turns out he started earlier, so had a greater elapsed time - Ha! Cameron dug out a bottle of bubbly to mark the last finish and let the committee boat go home. As always a fun sail, and great to be out on the water. I hope you enjoy these pics. Thanks All!
