For almost 30 years, my sister Lane and her artist husband Roger, have brought an interesting and eclectic community together, for an annual pig roast, at their cabin in Cle Elum. People come from all over, and while they may see each, other only once a year, they are soon friends. Everyone brings food for the potluck dinner - always a special feast! This year we had about seventy five people for dinner, with maybe half camping. It was hot this year and many made it down to the river, and then it sprinkled, which really helped cool things down. Lane lead an expedition to the island log-jam, and everyone survived. Hard working John, is the "Pig Master", meeting Martis taste testing. Jack is the last of the big dogs leaning and gleaning. Sara and Jason camped up from New Mexico, with two little dogs. This was a good year for first steps, Marti's grand-daughter was so pleased. Was there really only one motorcycle this year? What a great pig roast, a real community tradition! As usual, I tried to get pics of the all the folks I could. Thanks all!
