We were house-sitting up on Magnolia, when Scott returned. He had been hiking South on the Pacific Crest Trail. With a late start, he was hiking fast, through Oregon rains, and into Northern California snowstorms. This year he's done about 650 miles and had the smarts to pull out, just before a really big low hit, with major blizzard conditions. Scott's actually hiked the full PCT, just over 1.5 times, so we were delighted he returned, only 20lbs. lighter. He had lots of stories with rain, mountain goats, cougar, bear, wind, drifting snow, cold, and some very special views. Jill arrived from up above Index, with baskets and bags of mushrooms. What a fine haul, just in time for Thanksgiving. It was great to see the two of them laughing and cooking! What a great Thanksgiving gift! Thanks all!
