Hank bought the nice 1981 CAL 39, a great sailing boat, and I got to sail with Hank and Konny to Sucia. What a good trip! We had a late start, but got off the dock in Blaine, in time to do a little sailing. We motored through the mooring field waving at a couple friends, and found a place to anchor before dark. Friday morning, we dinghyed to shore, climbed up to the trail and had a nice little hike. It's wasn't really a nice place to down climb, so I rowed around to a little beach. We went out on the other side of the North Finger Island to the Strait of Georgia, and put up sails. Not much wind, so we rolled up the genoa, launched the spinnaker, put on the autopilot and had lunch. Sweet! Flat water, steady easy breeze, good sailing. Later I did get to play a little, and saw steady 6.5 and a few 7 knots, before turning down for the next point. The light was bouncing off the water and it looked like white caps behind, so we got the spinnaker socked, down, and stuffed before docking. With the halyard wrapped, I got to go up the mast to untangle, and get a few more pics. We made it back to Seattle for the next trip, but that's another story. Thanks all!
