We got off the dock Friday afternoon, and headed over to Blakely Harbor, a little headstart to the Puge Sound Cruising Club Dockton/Quartermaster Labor Day Weekend Trip.
As always it was a treat to see Yohelah, coming, and going the next morning. Saturday we motored out, and sailed down Colvos, motoring past the Vashon Ferry and around to join the raft. Red Hot and Morning Star were there already. We anchored and backed down to the Morning Star, and soon figured out we were sideways to the wind. Soon Jeff and Sharon on Boog, the big Hunter arrived, and later Bob and even Blue Jay, just in time for dinner. Sunday some folks went off for a hike, while the rest of us took it easy, but everyone was back diner on Bob's Yamaha 37, with crew Mark and Diane. Nice to see Scott and Donna on the the J-36, while their big boat is in Mexico. Dawn & Dick had stories and pics from their trips, Mexico to the BC Central Coast. As always, what a great potluck dinner! Monday morning Bob, Blue Jay and Red Hot took off early for the current relief. We didn't get much of it. On the way out, my alternator was over heating. We rested and motored a little and sailed. We sailed all the way up Colvos Passage, around Blake Island and up to Blakely Rock, before slowly motoring in, to anchor in Blakely Harbar. Every other tack was a hitch tack, to set up a good one, so a long day. It was good to be back in Blakely Harbor, and home the next. Thanks all!
