Russ and Leslie, owners of West Yachts, asked me to come up to Anacortes to help with a couple "sea-trials". In the kitchen, I found Kathleen's latest sourdough experiment, great bread and then I looked out the window - pretty cold. I grabbed more gear and headed off, for a nice drive. In Anacortes it was still 28 degrees. We had to kick, push and tug the frozen docklines to get off the dock. The decks were snowy and slick, so a short sail and with the help of the owner we got the sails furled. The hydraulics may have been a bit sticky, but Matt and Aaron soldiered on. I tried to get pics of Leslie and Russ’s "children" new dog Lexy, and cat Zoe. Tuesday there was even more snow. Chuck and Carol got started, but when we were over at Cape Sante Marine, we learned it was too cold for the lift! When we docked Leslie was still sweeping! Above Golden Gardens, I found the backlit trees, with windblown caked snow and flat water. Kind of a wild, cold, good trip. Thanks all!
