Anacortes, WA
After four years on a small light boat, Kristin and Sean wanted a bigger boat, with the range to safely carry them to BC and Alaska, when they can go North of the San Juan Islands. The Island Packet has a wonderful layout, and thoughtful gear for extended cruising. A comfortable sailing boat, we had a nice little sail after the haul-out at Cape Sante Marine, even if it wasn't a sunny day. I was delighted to go up to Anacortes for the survey sail and pleased to see John Sanford, a surveyor I've worked alongside for over a dozen years. He always greets me, announcing to everyone aboard, "That's the broker who dropped an anchor on my head!" I have a few good stories too, and always appreciate how he gets into all the lockers. Kristin must be the designated navigator with her chart plotter tracking our trip on her phone. Note the colorful resistor for a windvane we found in an aft locker after the sail - I'm always looking for details I've never seen before. Thank you all!
Please enjoy these shared snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me.
