A Michael graduation/family/camping/driving trip!
Heading off to Montana for Michael's graduation, Kathleen and I finally got to camp again. We drove past the wind turbines, took the freeways to Spokane, and camped at a Riverside Park, very RV. Leaving Spokane, we wandered around Liberty Lake, down through Rockland, Plummer, on Idaho 5 to Saint Maries. Kathleen had plotted a trip on the Saint Marie River Road, worth it! We were the only one's at a Forest Service river campground. Next day we went through Avery and up the Gold Creek road till we couldn't. Back to Avery, through the tunnels, and back for directions. We made it over a very rough road to Wallace, and ended up camping off I-90 between the freeway and railroad, a very loud place. The next day was mostly just blasting down I-90 to Billings. Michelle found us a interesting house stay, cluttered with religious stuff. Sunday was graduation day, a full stadium, which looked like a super-spreader event. Two weeks later they had a clear spike in cases. With Covid Variants emerging, PLEASE GET VACCINATED TODAY. Out of the stadium, we had quite a family afternoon get together with lots of pics! Monday Michelle gave us a little tour and we got to see Meghan and Kai's digs and her fine new office. Later, Michael showed us his wood turning skills and tools. We headed back across Montana, down through Yellowstone, and finally found a campsite, whew. We crossed Idaho on 33 and 20, two-lane highways that took us through the Craters of the Moon, a National Park we hope to see again. We picked up I-84 and made it to a Baker City motel, a long day. Thursday was another long freeway day. . .
I hope you enjoy these shared snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me. Thanks All!
