Poulsbo, WA
A number of Coho Ho Ho Rally boats were headed over to Poulsbo for the third, a PNW tradition. I wanted to catch up with folks and take photos, and Kathleen made a peach and blueberry pie to share. I thought I headed out early enough for the 9:30 ferry, but the line went way up the hill. Two ferrys later, the fog cleared and I made it to Kingston and down to Poulsbo. Carrying the pie, I found Bob in Longship Marine. Boats were scattered across the bay, so no raft-up. Bob posted on Facebook looking for a dinghy ride for me. Surveyor Wayne came in with his little electric Bolger Boat, and took me out to his big Morgan 43 and I finally met Elizabeth. Wayne has lots of stories, tricks and hints so it's always a delight to catch up with him. Brandt with his coordinated dinghy chaps picked me up next. We motored through the North end of the bay, past several raft-ups and Bob's boat. We noticed Sacagawea, the big Caliber 47LRC's dingy was back, so we buzzed over to see Kristin and Bill. I explained I was looking for a potluck boat, and they graciously took the pie bait. Then Brandt and I went and wrangled in Rachel and Nojan on Pasargada the nice HR-36. Brant went back to his boat to put together a salad, and Nojan ferried Rachel and me to Sacagawea. Kristin gave me the quick tour, and soon we all piled into the cockpit. Brandt made another dinghy run for Cristina, and after pie, Bill played with his LED lights - no I did't take any pics with the green light on, but experimented with the red. After pie and fireworks, Nojan and Rachel took me to the dock - thanks! I walked up the hill looking for my car, way up. I thought I had plenty of time to make the Kingston ferry and avoid downtown Seattle, but they were closed - ARGH! I drove to Winslow, to catch the last late ferry. I played with the city lights, and finally made it home just before 2AM, whew! What a great day with good folks. . .
I hope you enjoy these shared snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me. Thanks All!
