Port Madison
We ducked out of Shilshole Sunday afternoon, headed over to Port Madison. Mixed clouds produced nice gray seas, and Jefferson head seemed a long way off. Of course we had a little more wind than needed, so we reefed and sailed along more comfortably. Just inside the bay I spotted Scott's sweet Cape George 31 anchored. We anchored back behind the PMYC, and had settled in, when I saw a mast coming by very close to our stern. Yea! it was Tor and Jess with sons Lars and Odin! We hadn't seen them in ages, and they are growing up so well. I would have been holding my breath, if anyone but Tor cut that close to our bow - wow! They invited us over to see the boat, and Jess picked us up with their dog. Tor has been working on the boat for a couple years and it's a wonderful boat for them, raised dinette with a view and an aft cabin for the twins. Very impressive! Returning after 2 months of local cruising on their big Bill Garden designed wooden cruiser, they stopped for one last night in Port Madison before going through the locks to their Seattle slip. Named "Discovery", I got a shot of their stern as they were leaving - what a skinny boat, love it. We saw Mike on his dutch boat, headed to the SYC as we headed out. We had a fine, light-air sail home on Simplicity - what a delightful little overnight trip! Please enjoy these shared snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me. Thanks All!
