Anacortes, WA
Wow, we lucked out on the weather for this survey! It's been smokey, raining, and windy, but we had a fine day for Mike and Pam's 32' Allied Seawind survey. We started in the AMG yard where Mark the owner had brought sails, cushions and gear from his home in Wyoming. We got to see how Seattle Yachts hauled the boat on a trailer, out of the yard, down the street and into slings and then the water, quite a project. We sorted out the sails, and soon had the boat sailing along at 6 knots, very comfortably. With the yankee and staysail we accelerated in the puffs but didn't come close to putting the rail in the water, even reaching. She's smooth stable boat, and easy to move around on. Michael, a sailing friend of Lynne's, was a fine mainsail trimmer. As always, Lynne the surveyor is delightful and so helpful, if we could only get her out of the lockers so we can go home! Mark had quite a truck load, and spent the next day stuffing the boat. Thanks all!
I always try to get shots of the crew, sails and scenery to share. Please enjoy these snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me, and it's always a good to be on another boat, especially with such gracious good people! Thanks all!
