I missed the swap meet and Sean joined me, on Gay's Thomas 35, Francy for the Blakely Rock Race. I haven't done that race in years, and went through my photo files and found the epic 2009 shot above, from John Aitchison's C&C Moose Unknown. It was so great to be out racing again, and I shot a lot of pics of all the boats I could. While I didn't see Blakely Rock from the approach, till the chute was stable after the rounding, this was very complex strategic race. The winds were mostly light and very fluky, and we were looking for pressure almost the whole race. We actually finished 7th over all, out of 58 boats that finished, and 4th in our class! Wow, what a delight to be out and seeing so many boats and folks I'd sailed with. Thanks Gay, Sean and regular crew; Larry, Larry (Lars), and John for letting us sail with you! We were only sprinkled on, but I got home to sleet. . .
Please enjoy these snapshots - these pics are good therapy for me, and it's always a fun day racing on another boat. Thanks all!
