Lake Washington/Puget Sound
Cassie and Nick were looking for "their" boat, and started emailing me in January. We sorted designs and by early April, had checked out a couple choices and made an offer. We managed to get the boat surveyed and closed in early June. They came up from Eugene, cleaned, and we headed out of Kenmore along with a float plane, with Mt. Ranier ahead. It's a couple hours to the first of seven bridges and the locks, to get to Shilshole. What a fun trip openning the Montlake, University, Freemont, Ballard and later the Railroad bridges. We waited for the locks, and finally once through, had to wait for the Railroad Bridge too. So it was over a six hour trip to Shilshole. After fueling at Shilshole I watched Cassie and Nick leave, and realized I'd left a camera onboard, which gave me the nice bow shot of their boat. Experienced sailors, they were headed to Ludlow and the next day, down the Hood Canal to Pleasant Harbor where they had kept their small boat. Walking up the dock I spotted the sweet S&S Catalina 38 fresh out of the yard. What a busy good day. Thanks all!
