Anacortes, WA
Surveyors Lynne and Andy came up to Anacortes for Yvonne and Rick's Dufour 35 Survey. What a cold day! We had the haul-out at Seattle Yachts South boatyard - Cap Sante Marine, and got there a little early. Built in 1979, the Dufour 35 was one of Michael Dufours early seriously successful designs. There's more weight low, and look, the transducers are protected from the straps by the keel. Why doesn't every builder do it that way! Back in the water we motored out and up to the proper rpm, and then put up sails. It was a little light, so we sailed between Fidalgo Bay and Guemes Island, and motor sailed West to scout the Guemes Ferry, which often races out across the bow of unsuspecting boaters. We had a bit of current against us, maybe two knots, on the way back to the slip. We put the main cover on and headed to the warm office for the survey de-brief, glad to be inside. Did I tell you it was cold!
Please enjoy these snapshots - these pics are therapy for me, and it's always a fun to be with out with another good boat and crew! Thanks all!
