The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 is a fast and comfortable design by Daniel Andrieu and this one's been outfitted for offshore. "Dawn Treader" has been seriously and thoughtfully upgraded with the internal furling mast replaced with a Seldon Rig with Antal tracks for main and trisail! The main sail is Quantum, and the jib a nice Port Townsend/Hasse sail. Sweet! I was delighted to meet the experienced buyer David, and his Tacoma sailing buddy Greg. We hauled out at the South yard where it was interesting seeing the keel bulb coming out of the water. Back in the water we sorted out the reef-lines and lasy-jacks. Russ the owner of West Yachts drove, while Lynne and Andy did the survey and sail. Eldie, Lynne's visiting friend, was happy to be out on the water again. There's always something strange, even on a good boat like this, and I found why the furler was binding, just look at that knot in the drum! I got a few good pics and we headed back in. Please enjoy these snapshots - these pics are therapy for me, and it's always a fun to be with out on another good boat, with such thoughtful experienced crew! Thanks all!
