Kingston, WA
After our 2003 offshore trip to San Francisco with John & Lisa on Andiamo, a 35' Pretorien, I've come to as many of the Rendezvous as I could. Starting back in 2004 in Oak Harbor (pre-digital), I've tried to get shots of the participants and their boats, and after Sam let me down from the mast, I've even got to race on some of fleet. Wow, the last rendezvous I photographed was in 2019 in Port Townsend, pre-Covid. This year the group meet in Kingston, the same day as the Puget Sound Cruising Club Salmon Bake. So I tried to be in both places, taking the ferry over to Kingston early, before heading down to Port Madison on Bainbridge Island.
Eleven boats were docked in Kingston, some with crews. Arriving before most were out and about, I worked out the dock getting a record shot of each of the boats. What's that RED boat? Yea, Mike on Amantea made it down from Canada, with crew. Soon there was coffee, smiles and coffee cake, and gradually, a gathering of most of the attendees at the shelter. I tried to get shots of all I could quickly, and appreciated all the smiles, before sadly running on. . .
Please enjoy these snapshots - these pics are therapy for me, and it's always a pleasure to see the Wauquiez owners and crews.
Thanks all!
