A Winter dock trip
The Puget Sound Cruising Club usually plans a February trip to a local dock, so folks can stay warm. Weather is often an issue, and this time Kathleen was watching the weather by Tuesday before the weekend, and it didn't sound good. By Thursday Cliff Mass was predicting strong southerly winds, with gusts to 30-45 mph over the lowlands, with snow Sunday late. We don't have a dodger, so we took took the ferry, went by Brownsville to photograph a Catalina 42 for sale, and arrived late Saturday afternoon. Some folks were off on a museum tour, led by Scott & Donna on Celestial, who's big boat was up the bay. I was impressed, six sailboats made it to the Port Orchard Marina! Sebastian, Charlie, Tangent, and Red Hot came from Shilshole, Amber Eve from Des Moines, and Naiad from the YC next door. We met up at the Chinese restaurant, quite a good group! As always, I try to get snapshots to everyone I can, and the boats, even at the dock. Even Lady Washington wintering over there. Please enjoy these snapshots - the pics are good therapy for me, and a pleasure to share. Thanks all!
