Larry came up to Anacortes to pick me up after the Thursday Catalina 320 survey. He took me down to his Catalina 42 in Brownsville, telling stories about a life flying and rafting wild Alaska rivers. He's an experienced sailor and pilot, and has had quite an adventurers life. Sally and Larry prepared to go to Alaska in 2020, but were stopped by Covid and restricted BC access. They out-fitted the Catalina 42 and went to Alaska in 2022. It's time to sell the boat, and I was recruited to help get the boat up to West Yachts in Anacortes.

We were off the dock before 7AM, under the Agate Pass bridge, with a view of Ranier and Mt. Baker before 10AM. We thought Oak Harbor might be a good halfway stop, but it was too early. Approaching the Swinomish Channel about 2:30, we were through hole in the wall, and docked before 4pm, a long day averaging 7kts most of the day. We walked into town, had dinner and looked at the tides. We figured we needed to leave about noon, to have almost high tide at the railroad bridge, where it was reported to be shallow. Through the channel, we were docked in Anacortes, and off the boat about 3PM, an easy day. I got to dock us, and drove us back to Seattle, dropping Larry at a family house in North Seattle, where I meet Sally briefly, but missed that pic! Good boat, good trip through the Swinomish Channel, and we couldn't ask for better weather, or an easier delivery! Thanks!
