Shilshole to La Conner
Gary bought the 1980 C&C 32 and needed a little help with the delivery to La Conner. Before we could get out of Shilshole Bay Marina, we had to get the dinghy sorted for towing. We played with sails, wind and waves as we went North past Edmonds. Then with a little round-up, blew the Boom Kicker hard vang out of its slot and spent a bit of time getting that sorted. By the time we arrived at Langley, the harbormaster was down on the dock to take a line. We wandered thru Langley, found the "right restaurant" for us and sorted a few more little boat projects; a lifesling line, and headboard webbing. Wednesday was pretty much a motor day with very light winds. It's further to the Swinomish channel than we thought! With a good high incoming tide, it was an easy and attentive trip. We learned about docking at the La Conner fuel dock and used less fuel than expected. We had a great time, traded stories and look how "salty" Gary became with more experience. Soon we were back on the dock and rigging the dinghy, before the long ride back to Seattle, whew. I hope you enjoy these pics. Thanks Gary!
