Shilshole to CSR Boatyard
Sarah and Dave are good O-dock friends and great crew. They have helped me on several deliveries, an Ericson 37 - Bremerton to Anacortes, and the Swanson 42 from Shilshole to Tacoma. They have helped me wrangle boats into the Seaview Boatyard for surveys, yard work and back, and helped me through the locks to CSR for my C&C 35-II bottom job. So of course, when they wanted to take their Gemini Catamaran to CSR, I was delighted to go through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks on Tipsoo. It's always an adventure - leaving Shilshole, Dave slowed at the breakwater entrance, just as the big Seattle Yacht Club boat blasted right by us - yea that was close! After the railroad bridge, we waited and waited, and while the empty Argosy tourboat was let out, and waited some more. It looked like a group of engineers with hardhats were designing a new gate activator repair - by committee! Eventually we made it through the big lock, and to CSR in good time. We stayed to see Tipsoo pressure washed, parked by the big Swan, carefully blocked with the center-boards down, and checked in by Kathy. Yea, I just have to take pics of some of the other boats on the hard too. A good day, I hope you all enjoy these pics. Thanks!
