Anacortes, WA
S/V Ziba is a rare Pearson 42 sloop - many were ketches with complicated cockpits. She's a strong, stable boat, with a real skeg, and maneuvers well. Don and Donna came up from Arizona, and surveyor Garrett from Centralia, Wa for the Anacortes survey. Garrett gets into almost everything, and thoughtful Don and Donna have had several boats. Donna recorded much of the survey on her phone. They are eager to be sailing in the PNW again. We headed out with the highest tide I've seen, and hauled out in the Fidalgo Marina. When we arrived a Nauticat was coming out and there was another one in the yard, rare to see two in a day. Despite the barnacles, which were scraped off, the bottom looked good, and we headed out for the speed/rpm test and put up the sails. We had all three sails up, but the tell-tails hung down, so I got a few pics and we motored back into Cape Sante Marina, where Leslie was waiting for us. Another good day on the water - thanks all!
