Troublesome Creek Campground
We had a rare weekend opportunity to camp at Troublesome Creek Campground, up along the Skykomish River, a place we had driven by for years. Above Index, we stopped by Iron Hold, our friends property, and Kathleen took off for the bridge - sometimes the salmon are running up there. I headed way up the hill, looking for Chanterelle's. It was a steep uphill thrash, across a log-fall valley. I found a few mushrooms, and took more pics. At Troublesome Creek Campground, we set up the big tent, with chairs and a table. In full "glamp-mode" we stayed a couple days - no internetor Cell service, just good books. At sunset, I worked to get the light on the water while hiding the road. After a relaxed Sunday morning, we packed up and headed back to Iron Hold. I made a loop on the other side of the river, thrashed and skunked - no Chanterelle's! From the bridge, we saw a very fast bird fishing - anyone know what kind? Jill and Michelle arrived and it was nice to see Kathleen and her girls laughing. We got to see some of the new Loraine and Travis projects at their river-front place. What energetic hard workers! Leaving the Skykomish River at Index, we found the back road to Gold Bar - what a good weekend. I hope you enjoy these pics. Thanks!
