Candy Masters - World Cruising on sv Endeavor The January PSCC meeting, held at the Puget Sound Yacht Club, on Northlake, was a great one. We had a good crowd, and a zoom and USB struggles to work through before Candy Masters could start her engaging story. Candy and David bought a Dutch 46' steel boat for long range cruising in 1987 and it was quite a project! they replaced large parts of the hull, took the deck off, added frames, insulated and basically built a boat in a Ballard warehouse. They occasionally sailed on Osprey till they could launch Endeavor in 2005, test sailing to Haida Gwaii before leaving for San Francisco. Headed to South America, they spent a little time in Mexico and made a loop to Ecuador, and then Chile. After a fine rounding of Cape Horn they sailed up to the East Coast before crossing over via Greenland Icebergs, to England. Candy even showed a complicated North Sea chart through windfarms and oil rigs. Wow what a story, with pics and maps, a fine way to start the new year with cruising friends. Thanks all!
