Andy the surveyor came up from West Seattle, and Wayne and Carleen from Eugene for their Sceptre 36 survey. Carleen and Wayne have lots of experience on a 25' pop-top boat, so this is a good step-up. Brandywine's a 36' Canadian-built sloop with a solid fiberglass hull, cored deck, and a fin keel with a skeg hung rudder. She has rod rigging and a nice Yanmar 3GM-30, and head-room! Look at those smiles, as we passed Adventuress! With rain predicted, we made it to the Seaview Boatyard slings early, replaced one zinc, tightened the prop-nut and were back in the water by 11:30. There was a Longshoreman's Union protest over the local mini-cruise ship. With lots of wind, we sorted out the main and reefed, tacked and jibed with maybe a third of the big genoa out. The wind calmed down, we came in the North Shilshole entrance and coasted into the slip - easy. Andy wrapped up the survey - I will rag on his barbecue sceptre later. We hauled the dinghy back up on the foredeck and headed up the dock, just as the rain started to pour. Whew - what a good day! Thanks All, Lee
